Ben, the broker has to find those shares to borrow, so you can sell them. On a high liquidity stock, like INTC, thats easy. On a stock like KTEL, with a 900,000 share float (yes thats right, only 900,000 shares), that could be tough at times. This might have something to do with what happened.

Hey Ben, now I'm on bended knee thanking Datek for screwing up that short KTEL at 33 7/16. Ouch, I don't know where my head was at that day.
