John M., John Smith's analysis is "cause and effect" in the purest sense. In some of my previous posts, I agree wholeheartedly that this will occur. Minor panic and investor concern about economic conditions always leads to major panic and the "trickle down effect" of those concerns through any economy, affects everything tied to stock markets and currencies. Depending on how long this effect is there, will obviously determine how serious things become. In the worst case scenario, I believe banks may have to close their doors because of their inability to satisfy customer demands for withdrawals (that may be a little 1929ish but you never know). I personally, will be keeping at least some money at home, just in case.
