I had a similar experience, just for the heck of it I placed a 10000 limit order @ .31 when the ask was .26 at 3:10 my order wasn't filled
until 3:19 @.27

I had an order filled at .25 during same time frame. Use e*trade for whatever that's worth.

I will always set a limit on my buys. Got burned big -time on HNLY with market order of $.3x. It filled at $.69 several minutes later and tanked again on the same day.
