Cats like fish because it is a very concentrated form of protein. It was not an "acquired" taste. <g> A cute old story about cats vs. dogs. A dog thinks, "My human gives me water, food, shelter, and everything I could ever need. I think he must be God!" Hi CatLady - I have an adorable but wire-chewing little Siamese cat "Amy". She stays away from live 110-volt wires, but has chewed her way through everything else. Computer cables are her favorite with their bundles of wires inside wires - parallel, serial, monitor cables - yumm! She's also very fond of expensive AC/DC power supplies, TV cable, and for light late-night snacks, telephone wires. On the musical side, she prefers MIDI cables, but she will also munch on speaker wires and L/R audio cables. She tried to get her tiny fangs around my dulcimer's steel strings but fortunately these were not to her liking. After replacing all of the cables in our house multiple times, we finally discovered "split loom tubing" which looks like real skinny vacuum cleaner hose split all the way along its length. For a while, every local Radio Shack had me listed in their computers with my previous purchase as split-loom tubing. We finally found a cheap way to buy it bulk in various diameters (J.C. Whitney auto supplies catalog, because I noticed similar stuff is used to bundle car wires). So now almost all of our wires are covered with split-loom, tacked to walls, or strategically blocked by large items. There's a picture of her here at meezer.com (she's "Amy") meezer.com Carolyn S.
