Possible...NBR is about 2.5 billion and GW is about 700 mil. so that part fits. Consolidation in the land rigs would really tighten the screws for rig availability I would think. Doug, PZ & Big Dog would have a better handle on that type of rumor.

ron, I thought it odd yesterday when listening to the GW conference call that Tom Richards, the CEO and President, specifically mentioned Nabors as having beaten GW out of a Halliburton bid in Mexico or Bolivia. He never mentioned any other company by name.

He also said that GW was looking for acquisitions that would be accreditive to earnings and that said acquisitions could be had at a 40 to 60 % discount from a few months ago.

Never gave any other indication of them being acquired though...
