Off Topic: scba: It doesn't do it all the time. For example I'm not having any problem right now. But I'm not updating my quote screen every 30 seconds either. Could I fill up the cache memory on the disk or something by the afternoon?

Craig:
I don't have Office, but I have the Nortons. It found crashes that did not exist before!!!My Computer instructor complained of this as well. I strongly think you must remove the Nortons outright, not just turn it off. I uninstalled all of it except for the protected recycle bin. I took all the stuff out because it was so much in the way of everything- now I KNOW what you meant about the drive running, and it only did it every so often, but still!! Nortons was doing it when I had it installed! Now that there is only the unerase wizard, which in itself does cause the running, but much less now. Don't get me wrong, I think Nortons is useful, as long as it's used and then taken out again afterward. Give it a try, you can always put it back.
