Crucial Technology is the Micron memory that is used in Dell machines. I am not sure that the <$40 memory in the paper is Micron memory. Also I doubt it is PC100.

I am not saying you shouldn't buy less expensive memory, but it should be compatible with your system, whether it is PC66 or PC100(let me say especially PC100).

If you are upgrading, it is recommended that you remove the memory in your system, and REPLACE with larger modules of same brand. Take a trade-in credit on your existing memory. There will be a much lower probability of memory errors and crashes.
