Hank, This strikes me as being rather casual science, so it's hard for me to think of it as a scientific meeting, I guess. Do the posterees just stand there for days and days, till the meeting is over?

I guess the fact is that if they're just answering individual questions of people who happen to ask questions and then the attendees move on to the next poster, that it's more like an Exposition or Exhibit than a scientific meeting, by my own definitions. They can say different things to different people and have interesting dialectic evolutionary discussions but not really be accountable to the general public for what is said. No one tapes it? One person doesn't know what is said to the other? There's no massive group discussion, but just whoever ends up at that poster at the same moment?

Well, I'm too tired to type out that poster thing tonight. I'll get around to it soon, though.

Thanks for the elucidation.
Linda

They've always let me sit down. It's only for a few hours--not entire days as was supposed by our friendly rocket scientist. I guess she's never been to any science meetings.
