Mary, Mary, Mary. OK, I didn't get your point about Penn State football. In my jump to conclusion/lack of patience which comes with my ethnicity (no excuse, I know) I thought you were saying that Penn State and Paterno were win at any cost programs, a la Oklahoma U. Instead, now I know you meant that they did not get the respect/lofty ratings they deserved when playing in the East.

>>>"What I meant was that before Penn State joined the Big Eleven, Penn State football
seemed always lower in the polls than what their accomplishments on the field
would indicate."<<<

But, they did win at least one national championship before they joined the "Big 10."

I was really disappointed when Paterno turned down the Patriots some years ago on a head coaching job offer.

More noise and going nowhere rambling data...my brother got his Masters at Penn State before getting his PhD at a school in Cambridge, MA where another contributor to this thread got his. So, I'm kind of sensitive about Penn State.

Peace, already, it's Saturday!
