Gary and Tom, when the industry explodes there will be more than one winner in this field of new generation network. CSCO and ASND even NN will do very well. Look at PC makers in last two years, more than one winner. There is plenty of business for everyone. CSCO alone can not meet the global demands. Both of you make some good points.

Gary, I am surprised to see that CSCO has no competing product for CORE ATM switch to compete with GX550. ASND has this product since 0ctober 1997, shipping for 3 months. FORE is the second one which already 6 months behind ASND in time to market. If CSCO has a competing product one would have heard about by now for LV interop convention. They may bring the product but if they are behind more than six months in technology, timing is everything. How do you know ASND won GTE on price basis, CSCO simply has no competing products at this time.
