David, MIND is still a good company making good money. It will take some time to rebuild credibility. I have been taking advantage of the swings by day trading it. Twice this past week I bought it at 11 and sold it at 12.

It may take awhile, but it will get back to the 20's. There may be other stocks that offer faster performance, but MIND is ok for longer term oney, says I. But watch those dips and dives. Actually, with the news out yesterday, the stock may calm down a bit and trade in a narrow range with an upward bias.

FGII didn't come out to play yesterday. It seems to frequently trade opposite the others...don't know why. Maybe it will play catch up on Monday. I'll be at the FGII reception in Houston on Tuesday night. Also on Tuesday, I have a meeting with a high level money dude behind CKH. You may know that Chiles Offshore (who CKH is a major investor and has two jackups on order) just secured a bond placement through CSFB for a 10-yrs at 10% to finance these two rigs. Now consider that these rigs are pure speculation, Chiles does not have an operating staff, the rigs do not have contracts and these are their only "assets". The bond market must be hungry.

Gotta love that EVI...Beeble may get some money back after all...

Looks like a heavy emphasis on the equipment suppliers...RON, VRC, EVI etc.

My partner will be on a panel Monday at OTC with Russ Luigs (GLM) and other industry gurus. This is a small presentation for each dude and then questions from the press. It's actually a set-up press conference with about 30 members of the press invited.

My guy will talk about the "next wave" of rig orders. The orders that will come after the current class of orders get delivered and in the ocean drilling and making discoveries. Our view is that the oil companies (who have a committment of in excess of 10 Billion dollars already made for drilling rigs and indirectly associated services -- not counting lease costs) will take some time to drill wells and see what they've got. Then, assuming they actually find oil, there will be a big demand for development drilling equipment. But we see the oil companies with their plate full for now until some of these rigs actually start making hole.

There will continue to be orders, but we think it will be at a slower pace for a couple of years. This will give the supply company's a chance to rationalize their business re capacity etc. It will be the pause that refreshes.

I will try to post some pages to my web site next week that show this graphically. I'm writing the press release today and will post it here. Teddy you can send it to your pal Mavis.

...and welcome back Teddy. Please give us a report on where you have been and what you learned while you were gone. Did you run off with lisa the voodoo queen who is also MIA? Now there is a girl that could change your voice.
