Now that is what I call a progress report - #13402.

It is interesting, the instant gratification thing. I left the employ of JDA Software (JDAS) a year ago with about 7,000 shares which had cost me say $6 each. I think they almost hit $60 a couple of weeks ago. If I had just left them and not sold them at $30 I could have sold them last week and just about paid my mortgage off. But hindsight as we all know is irrelevant. Hell, JDAS could have tanked to $3 !

So the desire for instant gratification drives you to imagine how you will roll into one stock, double your money and roll into the next and be worth millions this time next year !!! But you know how it is. You get some bum advice, like load up on Alydaar at $27 because a big announcement is coming the next day. Only trouble is the new client cancels the announcement, the stock drops to $20 and then down to $11 and you retire cringing with a $70,000 loss.....Ha Ha, you only do it once !

So I am sure the answer is to scientifically divide up the portfolio into say 50% not quite blue chips but steady JDAS type stocks, 25% TAVA, RNTK, ABMI, ITKG, MUCP, etc,etc which could turn into 20/30/40 baggers (and/or give you regular sh*t haemorrhages) long term and then do what we do on this thread with the last 25%.

But greed always seems to dull the senses, make you buy/risk that extra $25,000 worth of stock and we know we always, always get our fingers burnt, however much DD we do, however much we trust the person who gave us the tip.

I suppose if it was easy everyone would be doing it.

Weather is absolutely beautiful in the U.K. Clear blue skies, birds singing, children playing in the garden, branches gently moving in the warm breeze, hard disk humming, modem squawking. What the hell am I doing at 4.30 p.m. wading through hundreds of posts on S.I. !!! GET A LIFE DEL.

regards,

del.

ps. Yes, August pint of warm beer with you in London would be most welcome.
pps. I thought you had passed away. They had already written your obituary. Rename it Lazurus Cafe?
