Proximity XRL would eliminate concerns about masks, and I think that is ultimately the direction that the technology will take.

The only thing that's going to happen with any NEW technology..

is a "send us a sample and we'll look at it".

The current opportunities for what's proven will more than satisfy fab requirements for years to come. Phaser beams etc.. will go through the usual development stages for years to come and anyone investing in unproven technology will just hafto wait and wait and wait. This has been Cymer's situation up until two years ago.

Fabs need reliable proven technology and AMD is a good example of how something so GOOD could go so wrong and screw-up the whole picture.

Fabs are just now understanding DUV and <.25 so I'm quite certainly any investment in "the next greatest thing" is totally premature.

That's one man's opinion, but when I'm right, I'm right! :-)

Buy Cymer if it falls based on the long-term positive outlook for the industry and if anyone needs some beautiful art, I'm the man to see! :-)
