there is really no simple solution for it. There would be too much effort and you gain very little. Actually a multi mouse configuration is is nothing special (and has basically nothing to do with the OS, this is why you can buy these y-connectors). But a second cursor (on system level) which works for all applications means you have to modify the whole operating system. As far as i know all OS's currently available rely only on 'Mouse Events' coming from one input stream (the stream itself may come from more than one source of course) and the system cant detect whether an event is originating from mouse 1 or 2 (in case you have 2 sources for your stream). All this doesnt mean, that you can't write an application which draws you more than one cursor on screen, but these cursors would work only on the application level and not on system level (except one).

If I may volunteer a "Yankee Ingenuity" solution....

Buy two computers and set them next to each other. I've tried that one and it works.
