Reasons for Bay to be $50/sh, taken from the yahoo message boards.

Based on future potential.

1. The newly introduced Accelar desktop switch will be a best seller ( Accelar is getting slow response to backbone installations, where IS managers are very reluctant to change, since it is critical. However desktop switches have no such problems and should sell easily -- similar to the Baystack 350T)

2. Bay's recent win with TCI in the Cable Modem market, this is a HOT market for 1999 and beyond, and Bay has a leg up on this ( approx $2 billion market by 2000).

3. Bay's VPN (New OAK switch) is just introduced (VPN is supposed to be a $2 billion market by 2001), and Bay is the leader in this area.

4. Bay's VoIP Gateway switch is a starter in the over $10 billion VoIP market.

5. Bay's 5399 Remote Access with Voice support.

6. Bay's Gigabit Ethernet Routers. (Cisco doesn't have them yet), and can be sold into the emerging Gigabit Ethernet market.

7. Bay's NetGear and Award winning Instant Internet products have the potential to be a MAJOR player in the exploding Small business market.

8. BAY's Channel relationships, and Channel resellers are WORTH a LOT to any company. Also Bay's Installed base and loyal customers are worth quite a bit.

9. Bay's Direct sales (e-commerce) over the Internet (scheduled to come on line in September should generate about 1/2 billion in sales).

10. Bay's Centillion products and others misc products

Given the above, Bay is positioned to becoming a MAJOR player in emerging markets and deserves at least $50/sh
