Hi Stephen,

"The World Health Organization has published the current annual birthrate of approximately 4,000,000 births in the United States, with approximately 10 percent of these births being premature infants. The company estimates that individual bilirubin blood tests on newborn infants (heelsticks), which are not part of a general panel blood test, total approximately 15,000,000 tests performed annually in the United States, based on data made available by the World Health Organization, the American Academy of Pediatrics, independent market studies commissioned by the company and business proposals from potential marketing partners."

I am not a doctor but did my DD on ccsi.

Your numbers are COMPLETELY wrong imho. Please check the numbers published by the WHO and INDEPENDANT firms (see the research thread started by Janybird).

Your numbers are WAY too low (and one has not to be a doctor to see the huge potential for the bilirubin testing device alone).

Please contact Dr. Maisels or Dr. Holzman and speak with them.

I hope you seriously check your numbers.

And now an answer of a non-expert.

I have spoken with many young mothers about the bilirubin problem and although I know that this is not a statistic evidence, I can assure you that a lot (MOST) of their children were tested for bilirubin. Your 10 % number is completely wrong imho.
I have only one niece and guess, she has been tested twice.

By using one's common sense, one can figure out how BIG this market is.

Excellent points STLMD. I too am in Medical Field and have attempted to make some of the same points. I am certainly in full agreement that this Bilirubin meter has merit but limited usage.
