Judging from Mike Murphy's record, if you have taken the other side of his trades, you would have made a lot of money.

Murphy likes to do strategic switching.

Not long ago he dumped XOMA to buy CORR. This action worked well for him. He'll be buying his XOMA back later this year before their phase III trial ends and results published. He'll buy his ISIP back at some later date when the timing appears right to him.

Sure, I would like to do strategic switching and have inside information and have next week's newspaper and make a ton of money real fast. But in individual investor reality, I buy some and hold, buy more on dips, and sell some at tops. The risk of being out of a stock when it takes off is too scary for me. Look at today's action in ENMD, this was totally unpredictable.
