Found this on the Compaq board but since it also deals with 3Com I thought I would pass it along.

news.com

Hopefully the link will work.

Mang,

Thanks for all your postings over the weekend, keeping
the thread informed with latest news. Sometimes, life
gets in the way of more important things - like, staying
on top of SI. <gg> So, it's good that other people on the
thread can cover in the mean time.

I read your post about COMS being one of the most
actively read threads? I guess we have lots of lurkers?
I always wondered what the lurker to poster ratio
was. I bet it's about 5 to 1. What do you think?

About the article:
3Com, Others Push LAN Switch Prices Further Downward

I think this is good (one of the reasons I'm staying with
COMS). Since they have economies of scale (+great quality),
they can control the price/volume game.

By the way, this weekend I bought that book you mentioned
a month or so ago -- "The Gorilla Game". I heard
positive references about it by other people and decided
to take a look at it. (More reading - whew! <g>).
It looks like it has a case study of CSCO...

By the way, thanks for reply's to some of my other posts.
I will try to get back later on some of them. Sometimes,
I read other peoples post's and mull on them for a while,
before I respond -- which is good because it gets me
thinking!

Joe
