James: just so everyone is clear: Jack Grubman is the most respected analyst in telecom. He and his colleagues all have wcii target prices of 60-80+ dollars, based on reasoned DCF analyses. Their deal-premium targets are higher. Vector vest, quest, or whatever, has no expertise whatever in telecom, and takes a particularly narrow and conservative view of value. There's no question but that Grubman, et al. know more about winstar and the industry than Vectovest. Indeed, vector vest/quest "follows" everyone--so much for expertise. So, if you wish to be safe and conservative, no doubt--follow the boys of vector bobkus. If you want to try to make money--which involves some risk--buy wcii.
