Notes about Steve Jobs

Yes, I admit he did a good job in bringing the company back to profitability. A monumental task and I give him a B+ score.

However, he has done this by basically locking out competition, and relying on high margin G3's.

We have yet to see any major Rhapsody release or the <$1000 box. I think he should now concentrate on expanding the base of users by introducing low priced macs as well as increasing software development. The Intuit fiasco was embarassing to say the least considering Intuit has a board member on Apple.

Hopefully tomorrow we'll see a spike in the stock with the introduction of the new G3 laptops.

I still don't get your point about people trashing Sculley and Spindler only after they were fired. How could they have trashed them on this thread before they were fired. It didn't exist.

I was pointing out the change in position that has occurred here on many subjects, ranging from Spindler to MacOS7.0 to Copland to e-Mate to Amelio, where two years ago the bears were defending them and now claim "of course we knew they were screwed up all along".

It wasn't a personal critique of your position in particular (for all I know you could well have been pestered about Spindler all along), it is a comment on the general tone of the discussion here.
