May Position Trading Account (PTA)

I am going to do the May PTA slightly different, in that
I will initially enter only part of the eventual stocks
portfolio. This is mostly dictated by some uncertainty
in the markets, and because I feel that there will
either be better entry later in the week for other candidates
or I need another day of confirmation signals.

Again, I will enter 300 shares of each and add to
the postion as appropriate. The initial investment
will be less than $15k, so one could reasonably
trade in hundred share blocks (100, 200, 300, etc)
to meet whatever your account size is. This account
will not exceed $35k in initial investment also.

Entry prices shown are the limit entry based on
the last close.

SYMBOL DATE SHARES PRICE COMMISSION COST

BOST 04/04/98 300 5.000 $15.00 $1,515.00
CPU 04/04/98 300 18.625 $15.00 $5,602.50
PXD 04/04/98 300 24.250 $15.00 $7,290.00

TOT/AVG 300 15.958 $45.00 $14,407.50

Other stocks considered were TOY, MDYN, PTB, and SPCO.
This account will only be paper traded, however, as I
will be out of the country between May 16-25 and
unable to follow it. I will post stop loss guidelines
before leaving.

NASDAQ stocks moving to other exchanges:

I used to follow them a couple of years ago, but back then it was a fairly predictable climb and drop and rebound in a 2-3 month cycle. Now though that cycle can compress into a week or extend to a year. JBL should be an intersting one to follow though. In general, the volatility will drop and the stock will become more readily suited to TA and FA for the longer swings. A lot depends on the volume though. If it can maintain a reasonably level volume, it gets even easier to follow. Jenna has tracked JBIL in the past, so she might be able to shed some light on it for us.

Going from AMEX to NYSE is not very signifcant though, as by the time those meet the criteria, they are usually boring to follow.
