Well it looks as if the news on Savage is out...

Selling @ $35/chip

Volume production starts in Q3

I noticed at the bottom of Don's link above, that Savage has only 68 bit bus compared to 128 bit sported by others.

Is this something of concern? Why wouldn't S3 follow suit?

Any thoughts?

It seems to me, S3's biggest asset is their production capacity. How many board makers and boxmakers have been burned on late shipments of chips?

It seems if Savage is just EQUAL the performance of the others, S3's capacity will bring back all the design wins lost and then some.

And if Savage turns out to be significantly better then the rest....

just look out.
