Remember that a significant percentage of Windows 3.x users have not upgraded to Windows 95... I wonder why these people haven't upgraded. Maybe they are waiting for version 2 of Windows 95, which just happens to be Windows 98 ;) Wishful thinking perhaps, but the possibility exists. Anyway, if these folks are buying PCs a couple of months from now, they'll be getting Windows 98. Or if they plan on upgrading to more current versions of whatever software they are now using, they'll almost certainly have to upgrade to the latest OS. These holdouts are fighting a losing battle (I should know, I was one of them), but they just don't know it yet. Sooner or later they'll be in the pool with Windows 98 and wondering why they waited. Nasty, isn't it, the Microsoft momentum? Winston

Whether most users of old version of OS will up grade or not all depend on the difference of Old and new ver. Since ,just like you said, significant % of users of win3.x did not upgrade to win95, so those group of users will upgrade to win98 this time. And also , remember, there is quite difference between 95 and 98, and the most major one is USB driver support, ..... I think you realize that probably at this moment not too many systems are now on DOS alone, why ? because there are big difference between DOS and windows.
