Interesting article yesterday in the Chicago Tribune on how Y2000 problem may cause a recession due to interruption of commerce: members.aol.com I have no doubt there will be an impact, the question is how large or small? Like Asia six months ago the opinions seem all over the lot. Joe

Paul, I think some people may have learned something by reading those posts. The common dominator was if a product didn't use a date field for any function it won't be affected by Y2K. Haven't you seen posts to the effect:"Looking for a generator and how do I find out if they are Y2K compliant." I have heard on radio talk shows that have Y2K experts guests, and they say cars, toasters, etc.........may be affected. Looking at the links to the Y2K compliant / non-compliant products, showed that if a product did not use a date field for any function would not have a problem in the year 2000. Did you notice the Fax machines that had a date function and did not pass the Y2K compliance, the problems were very minor, but the product STILL functioned. See: exchange2000.com
