Jeff - Re: " "An Introduction to Microcomputers" by
Adam Osborne. How's that for relics?"

It's good - I have one also.

I happen to have picked up an Osborne 1 portable for my collection as well! Now I need a working copy of CP/M to get it to run.

Re: "the 6502 was an improved knock off of the Motorola 6800 8-bit processor. It was the first "RISC processor" businesswise, in that it was said to be elegant "done right" - destined to bury Intel and the 8085. "

This is an excellent analogy - depicting yet another "FORCE" that was destined to topple Intel from its perch.

Jeff -
Brings back a few memories - I have (down in the basement) both the Osborne intro and the accompanying bible of 8-bit spec sheets, also two 6502-based 'computer on a board' from Rockwell, both of which just passed their 20 year anniversary and still work. 6502 was also the heart of the Commodore PET.
