I'm always amazed that Paul still has not figured it out that if the price drops enough, then a PC is affordable to those that cannot afford one at present prices. Given a Intel CPU, that I can't afford, versus a box that I can afford (which isn't as fast? so what!) then what do you think I'm going to do?

That explains Cyrix's dismal failures.

Intel's CPUs are faster and quite affordable.

As you note, most customers do not prefer a bargain price on an inferior piece of merchandise.
