Datek stated that it was problems with the Nasdaq system, but others pointed out that there was substantial volume being executed by other brokers on the Nasdaq during the time in question. Some were wondering why the "Nasdaq" problem would be so Datek specific. I definitely recommend using limit orders only with Datek. On the other hand, I must say that some of the lousy non executions have gone in my favor, so I don't see a conspiracy or a broker trying to trade against me, just a system that can't adequatly deal with the volume, and that sometimes craps out entirely (no way to get through on the phone in a timely fashion either). More info available on the Datek thread. Lots of dissatisfied customers there. The only reason I'm going to maintain an account there is because they let me short whatever I want, and they are the only broker I am aware of that will do so. Subject 5957 Barb
