Nancy, there are a lot of reasons to be vegetarian! In fact, there is absolutely nothing about a meat-eating diet which is superior to a vegetarian one, in the sense of health benefits. I also like it that no animals are killed in the process of attaining better health. The environment really suffers when we grow grain to feed animals and then eat the animals, rather than just eat the grain. There would be much less starvation in the world, and less erosion, and a lot less cow flatulence stinking up the atmosphere as well, if everyone stopped eating meat.

One thing that I cannot understand is how most women are totally grossed out by bugs, spiders, mice and rats, and yet looking at dead animals on their dinner plates pleases them immensely!!!
