Rudedog, Re: >" Or is the thought of the Market arriving one morning with a Knife too intimidating to discuss? "<

My initial comment was: "Knowledge replaces experience, knowledge + experience gives one the insight that you posses" in reference to Paul's insight into the complex needs and uses for PC's. Why someone would transfer to chickens and market analogies was off the beaten path a little IMO.

Now as far as the market arriving with a knife too intimidating to discuss and chicken analogy. As chickens keep hackling until the farmer's knife shuts them up so too will most investors keep doing whatever they feel will be profitable until the market knife stops them. Some of course will be fortunate to run away from the coop to save themselves but I feel that it's luck and not so much knowledge or experience that keeps them alive. In the market theory knowledge and experience may help much more in escaping the death blow! Hence people are better at knowledge and experience than chickens!

Perhaps. Then again perhaps we'll all get lucky and the
market will continue to rise at 20% per year forever :-)
