I must say I never had a very good understanding before of what Joseph Campbell was about. I am too busy to do a lot of serious reading, but I stumbled across gazillions of videos at the library, especially the "Power of Myth" ones with Bill Moyers, and have really enjoyed the ones I have already watched, and will gradually get the rest of them. Did you know he taught at Sarah Lawrence for 38 years? I would have loved to hear him lecture when I was in college. A lot of people were very lucky to have had the chance. I think you are right about Emile. If no one answers his posts he will eventually wither away.
