Whippie and all, Good thread. Obviously you managed to hijack all the Mohanites from the thread you originally started. BTW, where is that bozo Mohan? -g- A few random thoughts - IF you are a believer in Big Kahuna, buying mutual funds that short stocks is NOT the way you can make money. Even an above average money manger, long or short, can lose big during the down-draft of BK proportions. The reasoning is pretty simple. Sighting an over valued market is an obvious trait in many - heck, even Abby gets "less bullish" often. -g- But, the big problem is that very few managers can over come their emotions in order to be able to make money by closing the shorts in the right time. Among other things, the threat of "impeachment" in late January marked the beginning of this remarkable run in the markets. The dismissal of Paula Jones case marks the top and the launch of Euro, the death of a top central banker in Japan is the death blow for the US equity markets. I am expecting a big slide in US dollar and hence the market here - in the next 3 weeks. Among other anectodal evidences - Billy Clinton is siding with Ralph A and Abby C in calling this a real "user demand" oriented stock rally and hence it will continue to grow to eternity. I think you will get a preview of what is to come in the next week trading. Boys and girls, it is going to be ugly enough that this stuff will be rated NC17 -g- Good luck! -MMV
