That doesn't make any sense too me. I have tried with my own products, Fax(2) and a Voice mail system. I advanced the date to 2000+ and they functioned fine. My computers (all three) are now Y2K compliant after a SIMPLE flash bios upgrade.

On the faxes and voice mail system on the year 2000, they display "00", and work fine.

I am not an electronic engineer, these were my own tests, with my own products.
