Alex--Pardon my interruption, but a Frenchman is scheduled to take over in 2002 and another Frenchman is in high level place. I am very surprised at the strength of the French so far in this deal, as compared to the Germans. I really thought the Germans would dominate.

French only won a face-saving pt in their eons old cultural tete tete w/Germany. Their man could be dead and long gone in 4 yrs...
