sonki, which dogs did you find attractive enough last week to buy besides MO?

Are you rolling money into SPY at current market levels, thought you posted that but I wasn't sure. Check out DPMI and tell me what you think, as an investment not as a trade.

Hi Sonki,

Nancy suggested I talk to you. She said you did some research into
the notes in this link.

techstocks.com

My Canadian broker has not been able to find out much about it. He
did find a quote for it on the Chicago exchange. It was 1000 1/4 ask
no bid.

At first read I thought that the investor was indireclty buying a basket
of telecommunications stocks and that he/she would participate in
any stocks price appreciation over the time period of the note.

On second read I am not sure this is the case. It appears the note
does not trade at premium to the net asset value, so what is the
advantage to issuer? The issuer also need to pay 2% interest
every year that the note is outstanding. In this kind of deal
the issuer is trying typical get the use of your money at a cheap
rate for a fixed period of time. There should be an angle here.
You can't buy leaps that far out, so they are not buying leap
options and then investing the rest of the money in a bond
to cover the interest. I don't quite understand how this deal
is structured. Could you please provide further details if possible.

Regards

Harry
