Bob, Some interesting thoughts in your post #reply-4303954. I think the U.S. system is more based on the English system of King (President), House of Commons (Congressmen), and House of Lords (Senate), than you implied. Actually, a point often brought up by nit-pickers is that the U.S. is, technically, not a democracy (i.e., one person, one vote) because of the Electoral Colleges - a built in stabilizer. Speaking of stabilizers, the Senate is supposed to act as a break on legislation. Anyway, I'm sure there a political science major among us who could shed more accurate light on the subject. Inasmuch as man influencing man, it seems that divine right of kings and rulers being the sons of gods has been with us for a very, very, very long time. Which is better? Human influence or divine influence? Or is all divine influence in politics inherently false? Separation of church and state? Eh... I'm just rambling now. Really, all I wanted to do was try to use an hyperlink. :-) Greg
