Kevin, Re"AMD market share":,

The x86 CPU market is expected to grow from 15% to 20% this year. Last years shipments were of the order of ~85M units (I'm not sure if this is Intel only figure or the total x86 figure - for your benefit assume it is the total x86 market figure for 97). So there is an additional demand for ~15M units this year. You must be really taken in by Jerry Sanders' sell if you think growing quarterly shipments from 1.5M to 1.6M equates to gaining marketshare - all this while Cyrix will decline in volume shipped (in my estimate) ,

Best Wishes,
- MJ
