Your point on my point is an excellent point.
I agree with the strategy shift and the overall
direction of management and staff.

Sincerely, with due regard to the tremendous
strides Borland has made and significant contribution
to the state of development tools it has provided
they are due a great "vote" of confidence in the
true sense...your pocket book, buy this company.

But don't 'buy' the name change. In my little world,
it makes as much sense as an underdog football team,
that finally makes it to the playoffs and just before
the first game, changes it's name to emphasize to the
loyal fans and dedicated players their game strategy has
changed...forget the proud identity and sweat that got
them there.

Think of how much advertising it would take to re-educate
the NFL that the spunky old Borland team is now the even
spunkier Inprise team. And since we changed our name, we
would like you to spend more money on tickets for the big
series. I'd think I would wait now for the Super Bowl to
see if the name change isn't just fluff from the marketing
guys, before I fall for this one. And then I'd get my season
tickets next year...if the veteran players don't decide to
be 'free agents'.
