CK -- don't know if you saw my other post today on the TAVA thread, but the major ( still pretty minor) paper on the west slope of Colorado ran a front page, main headline y2k story today. Total whitewash.

I was happy to learn in the article that the county gov. will have no problems because they bought all new computers four years ago. No money is being budgeted by gov. at the couny or local levels because they expect to be able to handle everything in-house and within exisitng budget allocations.

I mean, how tough can it be to change some computer code? After all, there's folks out here who's forepersons tamed the west.

One more data point. My next door neighbor is managing partner for a large Detroit law firm. They have geared up for heavy volume of Y2K litigation but so far they have been idle. They did get the "first" case though with the POS software that bombed with the 2000 date on a credit card.
