Although I have a tendency to short KTEL, I am quite neutral on this stock because with its high volatity, the possibility to make money is higher as long as the trading is on the right side. However, I think KTEL really does a good job in launching its internet business.

1) It receives a "free" advertising campaign that I think no company has ever enjoyed (even Yahoo or Amazon); almost any people who read or watch the daily business section should hear about KTEL during the last two weeks. I don't how much business KTEL has from its internet site comparing to CDNOW, but think KTEL should receive a very high number of hits during the grand opening, and the number will be used at the right timing to promote its stock price.

2) All the press releases are very well timing, if not called perfect.

3) An recent ad on the YAHOO Finance Site is a very good move, especially for promoting its stocks price.

Thus, despite all the negative comments from a lot of different media, the probability for KTEL's stock price to crash is very unlikely. All the negative news have become old news.

I wish I could predict what would be the "fair" price accepted by the investment community, but for KTEL to go back to the "earth", we should wait until a very bad next quarter earning to be released.

Therefore, at least for the short-term, shorting KTEL is a very risky strategy reserved only for high-risk lover day-traders.

You're right - I probably never will buy a CD from K-Tel on the web! I guess I'm a little hysterical, as a lot of people are, over this. I have tried to be a value investor. But, watching these InterNet stocks go up relentlessly, has affected me. I made about 2 weeks salary with two phone calls - buying K-Tel Friday and selling it yesterday. Ridiculous!!! But, I am holding on to AMZN, YHOO, and AOL, because somehow, they are going to tap into this $200B e-commerce. I think. Maybe K-Tel will, too.
