I agree but I find the adds that appear on the go2net site distracting and they have a significant effect on the time it takes to load a page. The question is do we want a fee for service site such that we are not burdened by advertising? I pay for TV for that reason.

If the charter members are required to pay a fee to bring them to equal standing with the "paying" members I would argue that it should be $45 as this was the fee that was in place when it was indicated that charter members are in for life. ( perhaps the decision was made as SI did not want to lose membership at the time, it was probably a business decision) I certainly would have paid it at the time but we were lead to believe otherwise.

I will pay a $45 lifetime membership without argument if only to maintain peace but the question remains. Do we want a fee for service site or some type of balance between fee for service and advertising or are we to be dominated by advertising?
