I bought csco in mid '96 right after strm acquisition, believing that it was a very good strategic move. At that time strm revenue/year was roughly 400m which 1/10 of csco. The strm portion would have to be 800m/year just to keep up with csco current 8b run rate. Based on announced ATM/FR wins, I doubt that strm division delivers that much.

At this point, I'm concern that while csco gives asnd a pain in the RAS business, there's a sign that asnd maybe stealing csco's lunch in carrier class ATM/FR and eventually win the VPN race.

Comments please!
