Hello, White Shoes! Your name is a curiosity to me. You see, I always wear a white tie and cumberbund or vest with my tuxes, and though I wear black shoes your name always reminds me of formal occasions... where did it come from?

I found your comments interesting! About AMTD, E*TRADE showed me that a poorly-managed deep discount brokerage house can get its ship in order... right now my take on AMTD is that they obviously advertise more than any internet broker, at least on the mass market. They are building name recognition, and their commission schedule is very competitive. Sure I'd rather invest in Datek or even Suretrade, but then again, I can't! Internet brokerage is definitely something that's here to stay, and Ameritrade has one of the best name recognitions so far.

NSCP -- I actually think it is both a short-term AND long-term buy. The next few months will be interesting as to seeing what becomes of the Netscape Netcenter, and whether they will be a better Yahoo! than Yahoo!, just as Microsoft has been attempting to be a better Netscape than Netscape... at this point, NSCP, having a smaller market cap than YHOO, could be a short-term buy. They are "The Internet" to many people. (I'm proud to have started the SI thread on NSCP.)

ONSL, probably my single best idea. I've ordered much from them, including the generic 17" monitor I'm looking at right now.

GNET and SEEK -- both honorable mentions for the original Virgin Portfolio... I love GNET's StockSite, and of course now Silicon Investor just adds to their lineup. Metacrawler has been my search engine of choice since about a year ago, that's when I got off of my Infoseek kick, simply because Metacrawler uses Infoseek and all the others at once. Infoseek looks to be the leading candidate to engineer Netscape's search engine, but I'm not sure what this would mean for the future of the company.

NAUT is indeed the high-end clothing brand. Looks like a value at current prices, much like TOM some months back... as for a new internet site, they don't retail themselves and I don't think they have plans to, but DLIA is planning to sell its stuff over the net soon. Things will just get better for a great company!

Ok, I have to go "study" now... exam at 9am tomorrow morning! Au revoir.
