You could have made this response on the thread, MSB, it is a good one, very thoughtful.
I guess that I too was admitting to a level of racism in the physical world, one that largely
does not intrude SI - for instance I hang out with a 12-foot chicken on some other
threads. Now that's tolerance you don't see in 3D.

I am also a Canadian citizen and resident of Canada at the moment, so I could have
taken another tack with that - assumed that you too were Canadian and agreed with you
about those people 'south of the border' -g-

We all live in little worlds and fear the unknown outside of them, that fear turns into
racism so easily, subtle degrees of it exist in everybody, I think. I've had the good fortune
to live in a fair number of little worlds - several in M‚xico, several in Canada, and two in
New Zealand. It's funny how a few months in a completely different culture can lead to
a strong distaste of aspects (or people) of the previous one, or of the present, in some
cases, depending. But after a few changes you start to be more open-minded, less ready
to pass judgement, more ready to adapt by taking the best from each and leaving the
worst for later. There are both thoughtful constructive people and assholes everywhere
I've been, and I don't expect much different anywhere else.

How to find others who will admit their own racism in public? - well, post your PM to me
on the thread, and I'll post this one. Maybe others will respond. It would be interesting to
see what Christine and Emile had to say. Perhaps we could gently goad Yaacov into
discussing Palestinians, and his attitude toward what Israel is doing to them. Myself I
may go into an anti-Vietnamese rant, as I've been having trouble with a group of them in
the course of my business .... although I would have to admit that I've recently made
contact with one individual from that group with whom I seem (knock on wood) to be
able to communicate with some level of mutual honesty and trust.

I have to agree with you about Farrakhan, I heard one of his speeches on the radio and
thought 'wow - if a white guy said that, he'd be in court in a minute'. Can't remember
exactly what he said.

We're all guilty as sin, you have a good point there. But maybe Christ's rule about
stone-throwing could be amended for Ask God to read 'Let he has stones throw them,
and see what happens, for it is only electrons, cyberstones'? ..... salud
