Brian,

I must commend you on your astute understanding of the dynamics (business, political and technological) at work between MSFT, NSCP, IBM, ORCL, AAPL and NOVL. You're one well informed investor, and its very refreshing to read comments from one that is unbiased and informed in today's emotional investment world.

Regards and come visit the NOVL thread once in a while too!

Dear Brian:

Corps. have long memories. IBM having been upstaged and outflanked by Gates is no doubt the lead in the get MSFT alliance. Notwithstanding the foregoing, Orin Hatch is from Utah and that is who reelects him to the Senate and NOVL is the biggest software/network company headquartered in Utah I believe. The connection is rather plain for all to see.

Apple has no right to complain they tried to maximize their profitability at the expense of market proliferation even though they had the best sytem. MSFT lets anybody who is willing to license their OS (under their terms of course) use the OS in their box. The first thing Jobs did upon his return to AAPL was to cut off the clones. It is APPL that should be under investigation. How would you like to have been Power Computing when Jobs said "Nyet"- where is the furor over that. No this thing is all political. Billy didn't give enough in the reelection campaign so his friends aren't helping and the other side is just doing their job.

Regards,

John
