HP and EMC Enhance Strategic Relationship Business Wire - May 04, 1998 09:26 PALO ALTO, Calif., and HOPKINTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 4, 1998-- HP to Provide Integrated Solutions that Combine EMC Symmetrix Enterprise Storage with UNIX System and Windows NT Servers from HP Hewlett-Packard Company and EMC Corporation today announced they have expanded the terms and scope of their strategic relationship to take advantage of increasing demand for integrated computing and storage solutions among HP's enterprise customers. HP now will offer EMC's Symmetrix Enterprise Storage systems solutions with its Intel-based HP NetServer systems, the industry-leading platform for Windows NT(R). Currently, HP is the leading reseller of EMC's Symmetrix systems for UNIX(R) system environments, selling Symmetrix systems with HP 9000 Enterprise Servers. By including the Windows NT platform, the companies are broadening the market for their joint solution. The combination of Symmetrix Enterprise Storage systems and HP NetServer systems will provide Windows NT customers with one-stop shopping for robust, high-availability enterprise solutions.
