Doing a bad job in anything is the problem. If Quantum were making leading edge heads and loosing money, you wouldn't be so worried. The fact is you are right, they don't seem to justify their business model. Nothing seems to suggest they will in the future.

I doubt you would suggest IBM drop it's head business. In fact, vertical integration is turning out to be a great story in their case.

So, here's a question for you. Hitachi has been on the leading edge with their developments in areal density. Who is licsensing their technology?

People assume GMR is the only future. What other choices may be coming down the road? Have we forgotten Terastor and Quinta? When can we see anything special coming from these sources?
