ATLANTA, May 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Today PRASARA Technologies, Inc. unveiled its Interactive Television (ITV) system, which works on any broadband network equipped with a digital head-end and digital set-top boxes.

PRASARA's ITV Control and Management Software System provides cable operators an end-to-end digital ITV solution - including network architecture, database design for subscriber demographics and viewing patterns, an order management system, content trafficking and loading, real-time billing and order fulfillment services, content acquisition and application development, and the expertise and unique experience required to integrate the systems with existing cable operations.

When combined with a broadband (HFC, XDSL, FTTC) network, digital set-top boxes such as Scientific-Atlanta's Explorer-2000, and digital video servers, such as Concurrent Computer Corp [Nasdaq:CCUR - news].'s MediaHawk(TM) and Oracle's Video Server in the head-end, PRASARA's ITV system provides cable subscribers immediate and easy access, 24 hours a day, to movies on demand with VCR functionality including fast forward and pause, fast food delivery, TV banking, local event information, news, and other transactional services provided by PRASARA Technologies.

Cable operators using PRASARA's ITV system accelerate the return on their investment in digital equipment by attracting new subscribers, and adding new revenue through these transactional services. ''Cable operators with an existing digital network in place can expect to begin generating new revenue in about 45 days using our ITV system,'' said PRASARA Vice President-Business Development Robert Montgomery. ''These new digital ITV services give cable operators a competitive advantage over DBS and other video providers,'' he added.

The principals of PRASARA Technologies are widely recognized for their expertise in the technical and business requirements for ITV systems, including the application design, network and system operations, and business development of Time Warner Cable's Full Service Network in Orlando, Fla. Existing clients include MediaOne, Mattel, Sprint, Scientific-Atlanta (NYSE: SFA - news), Power TV, INT2, Pioneer, and Concurrent Computers. PRASARA Technologies is headquartered in Orlando, Fla.
