I don't know anything about NEST but think it is interesting that the market doesn't seem to worry about how the growing competition will impact all these "portals."

This is the News.Com article about Lycos and AT&T. One might think that it could eventually impact YHOO and AOL, but both are up today. Of course we all knew about this deal, so one can argue it was already discounted, but hey.

When he announced the Web-based online service last week,
Davis said it was part of an ongoing effort by Lycos to compete
with Yahoo. In March, Yahoo joined forces with MCI
Communications to offer Yahoo-branded Net access to MCI
customers. Davis said Lycos also is gearing up to launch an
automated search directory to compete with Yahoo's search
service.

Netscape and Excite taking aim at yahoo. Microsoft will be next. I was going to wait until yahoo hit 125 again, but I'm going short again. I expect yahoo to have huge price swings, but to be generally in a downtrend over the next year.
