John: CSCO comes out with earnings after the close tomorrow. Any thoughts what CSCO will be saying with their conference call tomorrow about the future months? From the information in your post it seems like there will be a lot of positive news from CSCO in the next few months, and for the rest of the year. Thanks.

Many on this thread do know about the 'Abilene' project but under its other name Next Generation Internet (NGI) and we have been talking about it from time to time for at least the past six months.

Gore's proposal is not new. It is just that technology can now begin to deliver on the promise. In 1990/1991 then Senator Gore wrote an article in Scientific America that serves as the blueprint.
