Time Traveler does remember that C34coms process which was about a mask. A mask problem is another way of saying aggressive design rule. And obviously 0.25um does not use the same layout design as the 0.35um, you can say that particular mask would not be used in the 0.25um stuff. But the root cause may still be lurking to haunt AMD later on.
